Dubai Awards DXB Accessibility Assessment Project

Dubai Airports has awarded Reduced Mobility Rights Limited the project of assessing Dubai International Airport accessibility and assistance services for passengers with special needs.
With a total floor area of 1,972,474 m2 (21,231,530 sq ft), Dubai International airport features 74 aerobridge and 105 stands. Tenth busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic in 2012, DXB handled 57.7 million in passenger traffic, with an increase of 13.2% on 2011.
DXB is also the 3rd busiest airport in the world by international passenger traffic in 2012, connected to over 220 destinations across six continents through 150 scheduled airlines.
Reduced Mobility Rights Limited has been awarded the project of assessing Dubai International airport facilities and services for passengers with special needs. The study will comprise a review of DXB current infrastructure, facilities and processes, as well as recommendations based on existing and future guidelines.
In May 2013, Reduced Mobility Rights published its research on accessibility and assistance services in airports across Europe. The ground breaking study has been redistributed by the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission to European National enforcement bodies.
