Accessible Tourism Directory Pantou Launched
- Written by News Desk
The idea behind Pantou is straight forward: making it easier for people with special needs to find suppliers of accessible tourism services across the EU.
The newly launched directory aims to become the starting point for people looking for accessible services in the European tourism industry.
“Pantou aims to be a "signposting" website, a first stop for travellers with access needs to find accessible services across Europe,” Pantou management told Reduced Mobility Rights. “We do not hold accessibility details on the site but point to where this information is available.”
Pantou, which means everywhere in Greek, is in its launch phase. Very soon visitors will be able to search by types of services, access needs, country, map-based information.
“Ideally all airports in Europe should register with Pantou.org checking the boxes to indicate which customer groups they can cater for and which services they can deliver,” Pantou management said.
The Pantou initiative is supported by The European Commission. However, listed suppliers of accessible goods and services are responsible for the accuracy of content.
